Show and Tell

Let me tell you about a passion of mine. I love to make baby blessing/christening dresses. I learned how to make these in a children's clothing class when I was in school. That combined with the pattern skills I also picked up in school have allowed me to "run with it" so-to -speak, and I have been designing custom dresses since. The icing on the cake has been when my own daughter came along, I was able to design and make her dress. New babies are just about the sweetest thing ever. They come into this world so innocent and pure. Check out some of the dresses I have done:

My little angel, Lilly
To date, this is my very favorite picture of her. And we have hundreds to choose from trust me.

This is the very FIRST blessing dress I ever made. It is super simple, but sometimes simplicity is the key.
This is one of my favorites that I have done. I did it for a friend's baby. It was the fanciest one I had ever done until I made Lilly's.

This one was way fun to do. I did it for another friends baby and was the first dress I made for another person that wasn't family. Check out some of the close-ups below.

This is the matching headband for the dress.

Princess Belle Baby Dress

The most recent one I made was for my sweet niece Ella. Bethani (her Mama) grew up wishing she could be Belle from Beauty and the Beast, and even had a little yellow dress like Belle's ball gown at one point ( I think). So I was inspired by that ball gown to make this dress for her. I absolutely LOVE the way it turned out. Plus, isn't she adorable?

  2. Your dresses are absolutely beautiful! This weekend I struggled with sewing square patches onto my husbands uniform, so I am in complete awe of your talent at sewing such perfect, tiny things!

I can't believe that you and Bethani both have babies. {They are both adorable, by the way!} Seems like we were just in 2nd grade, and now we're...old. :)
